Part Time KS2 Teacher needed in Clitheroe School (PPA cover)

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a one form entry primary school in Clitheroe who are looking to source a KS2 Teacher to work on a part time basis. The role will be starting in January 2020, working 2/3 days per week. The role will entail working 2 days per week until Easter, to then progress onto working 3 days per week in the run up to the year 6 SATS. The role will be to cover a gap in staffing and the Head teacher is a lovely environment to work in. The school has a mix of abilities, with a range of children meeting their age related expectations but a great deal of children working below age related expectations.

Your priority roll is to deliver a wide range of lessons following the national curriculum and help boost and maintain attainment levels across KS2. Due to the position being PPA cover the Head Teacher has stressed that an excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum is vital. You will be expected to plan and deliver lessons making them engaging and enthralling for the pupils. The majority of the role will entail delivering English, Maths, Art, PSHE & IT lessons from year 3 – year 5.  

The school has a varied catchment with a mixture of ethnicity across school. The Head Teacher has said the behaviour is ‘generally good’ but the practitioner they employ will need to have strong behaviour management and show good behaviour strategies. The school is one form entry and the Head Teacher has commended her staff as ‘supportive and hard-working’.

The role will be 2 days initially, with a view to increase to 3 days after the Easter holidays. The days haven’t been decided, however the head has stated that Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday would be ideal. There may be some extra supply days the school will book you for.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
