Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference to the lives of young people who struggle to integrate?

Do you think you can make a positive impact regardless of challenges you may face?

Ready for a role that rewards you in ways you couldn't imagine?

Teaching Personnel work with a client federation of EBSD schools supporting children with mental health issues and face social and emotional challenges. The schools are looking to recruit Mentors to work with the students in the school and help to manage their behaviour and support with education.

Whilst in the classroom you will support the teacher with managing small classes and responsibilities will include providing explanations and breakdowns, encouraging engagement and inclusion, providing respite to students who need time away from class, counselling on emotional difficulties and providing advice on behaviour and social issues.

You can expect to meet challenges in terms of volatile and sometimes aggressive behaviour; training in de-escalation and intervention would be ideal however Teaching Personnel's training academy can provide necessary courses.

Although the students have many needs, if met with understanding and care they will surely develop in confidence and maturity, preparing the for a more independent life after school. Directly impacting these young peoples lives is incredibly rewarding as you see the changes your support has made.

To excel in this role ideally you will have worked with young people with behaviour needs before, in youth work, education or other relevant situations.

Please be aware that all applicants MUST have a child workforce DBS which is registered to the update service; Teaching Personnel can support your application.
