SEN Teaching Assistant (Medical Needs)
- Salary: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
- Hours: Full-time
- Start Date: October 2025
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with medical needs. In this role, you will deliver tailored assistance to ensure the pupil receives the care and educational support required to flourish. You will work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to create an inclusive, nurturing, and safe learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with medical needs, including personal care and medical procedures where required.
- Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt learning resources to meet the pupil’s specific needs.
- Collaborate with the class teacher to facilitate engaging lessons and ensure the pupil is fully included in classroom activities.
- Monitor and report on the pupil’s progress, health, and wellbeing, maintaining clear communication with teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals.
- Foster a supportive and encouraging environment that promotes independence, confidence, and personal growth.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience working with children, ideally in a 1:1 role or with pupils requiring medical support.
- Relevant qualifications in education, health care, or child development (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable, with a genuine commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Knowledge of specific medical conditions and appropriate strategies for support would be an advantage.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
