English Teacher

Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a secondary school based in Leigh, Wigan to recruit an English teacher who is able to join the school on a full-time basis following the Easter holidays.

The school wish to appoint an experienced English teacher with a track record of achieving excellent results at GCSE level or an enthusiastic English teacher who is motivated to ensuring that their students are able to push the boundaries of what they can achieve during their time in school.

  • English Teacher - Full-time position due to commence following the Easter break
  • Pay in line with your MPS and UPS teaching scale point - £23,720 - £39,406
  • Complete planning and marking responsibilities included

The school are offering employment on a temporary basis for the remainder of the academic year with a strong possibility of the role continuing into the next academic year

This English teaching position is an exciting opportunity to join a secondary school that has made huge improvements in recent years, subsequently this has lead to the school seeing an improvement in results within English and increased enthusiasm amongst their students for the subject.

The schools Head of English wishes to appoint a teacher who is able to deliver lessons in a fun, stimulating and challenging manner to ensure that students are equipped with crucial literacy skills that are required for the world of work and life. The English Faculty is committed to developing literacy skills and therefore students are encouraged to develop a love of reading, writing and expressing themselves with clarity.

The schools wishes to meet with interested candidates at their convenience and will be open to an earlier start date for the right candidate.

Found on the outskirts of the Wigan LEA, this school is located on the outskirts of Leigh town centre and is easily accessible from the surrounding areas; Wigan, Salford, Bolton and Manchester via the East Lancashire road. The majority of pupils on roll (950) are of white British heritage, there are a average amount of EAL pupils on roll and those who are eligible for free school meals.
