Future Teachers - Maths Graduates

What is the Future Teachers Programme?
The Future Teachers Programme is a scheme across England & Wales, designed to help address the current shortages of teachers, specifically core subject specialists, by attracting and supporting Maths graduates who are considering a career in teaching, but wish to gain paid school based experience prior to starting a teacher training course.
How does it work?
We have partnered with a number of schools in Tyne and Wear who are taking on candidates for Graduate Teaching Assistant roles on a full time basis, starting in September 2019.
In this role, you will engage in a range of tasks to gauge the responsibilities and routine of a Maths teacher, from supporting pupils with their studies in small groups and 1:1, to assisting class teachers across all departments and getting involved with planning/delivering your own lessons!
Upon successful completion of your 1 years experience as a graduate teaching assistant, you will begin a school based teacher training programme from September 2020 within a lead training school.

You will have the opportunity to gain a year's invaluable experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant with one of our reputable partner secondary schools in Tyne and Wear and progress with the same school to do your teacher training on site! Best of all, you will earn up to £1080 a month for your first year whilst enhancing your confidence, subject knowledge and teaching ability prior to beginning your training.
Am I eligible to apply for the Future Teacher Programme?
Applicants interested in apply to our Future Teachers Programme are required to be educated to degree level or have completed your degree by summer 2019. The school welcome applications from graduates across all subject areas including; English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, MFL and PE.
