Maths graduate Teaching Assistant- Stockport

Teaching Personnel have been approached by a large secondary school in Stockport to source the support of a Maths graduate Teaching Assistant from September 2018. This full time position represents a unique opportunity for a Maths graduate to work as a Teaching Assistant within a Maths department of a high performing secondary school.

Overview-

  • Maths graduate Teaching Assistant
  • Supporting across all areas of the Maths department
  • Working in Maths classes in all year groups and on a 1-to-1 basis
  • Providing Maths intervention with identified pupils
  • Covering Maths lessons in the absence of the class teachers by delivering pre-set work

The role-

As a result of a new initiative from schools to source Maths graduates who are potentially thinking of completing their teacher training next year, Teaching Personnel are working closely with our partner secondary school to source a Maths graduate Teaching Assistant. The incoming Maths graduate Teaching Assistant will compliment the existing Maths department and support across all areas within the department.

A passion for Maths is essential and previous experience of supporting or tutoring pupils with their Maths studies is advantageous given that you will work across all ability levels. Consequently, you must be able to confidently overcome apathy to learning and be able to engage pupils in their Maths studies.

The school-

Our partner secondary school enjoys an excellent reputation within the local area. This position therefore represents an excellent chance to develop within a school that will provide professional development opportunities. The role is initially for one term to ascertain suitability for the role. However, there is a strong possibility this will extend into the New Year. It is located in the Cheadle Heath area of Stockport making it easily accessible from areas of Didsbury and Tameside via the M60 motorway. There are also direct bus links to the school from Stockport town centre.

How to apply-

Any Maths graduates interested in this position need to submit their full CV to Paul via the link below. To discuss the role in further detail, please contact the Manchester South Secondary branch directly.
