Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are recruiting a confident and dedicated Year 2 General Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Stretford area. This full‑time position begins immediately and continues until the end of the academic year.

Although school details are anonymised, it is known for its supportive leadership team, well‑structured routines and a collaborative KS1 staff group who work hard to ensure high standards across teaching and learning. The environment is nurturing and inclusive, with a strong emphasis on pupil wellbeing.

As the Year 2 TA, you will support the class teacher with day‑to‑day learning, small‑group activities, classroom routines and pupil guidance. The school is looking for someone who is confident, proactive and able to engage pupils positively.

An important part of the role involves occasionally covering the class when the teacher is absent or required elsewhere. Because of this level of responsibility, a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher is essential. The qualification ensures you have the necessary training and foundation to manage the classroom effectively, follow lesson materials, maintain behaviour expectations and ensure continuity of learning.
