Welsh-Speaking Nursery Teaching Assistant Jobs – Full-Time, Part-Time & Flexible Work

Location: Cardiff
Start Date: April
Pay: £89 – £110 per day (paid weekly, based on experience)
Hours: Full-time, part-time and flexible Nursery Teaching Assistant work available

Are you a confident Welsh speaker looking for Nursery Teaching Assistant jobs or early years TA work in Cardiff? We are working closely with a number of Welsh-medium nurseries and primary schools across Cardiff and are recruiting Welsh-speaking Nursery Teaching Assistants to start from 23rd February.

Whether you’re looking for full-time Nursery TA roles, part-time early years support work, or flexible opportunities to fit around other commitments, this role offers the chance to gain valuable experience in early years education while supporting young children through the Welsh language. No formal qualifications are required, making this an excellent opportunity for graduates, career changers, or experienced Teaching Assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Nursery Teacher in day-to-day classroom activities
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to nursery-aged children
  • Communicating confidently with children through the Welsh language
  • Assisting with phonics, early literacy and numeracy activities
  • Supporting play-based learning, creative activities and outdoor learning
  • Helping with classroom preparation, tidying and resource organisation
  • Promoting a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

What Nurseries Are Looking For:

  • Confident spoken and written Welsh
  • A warm, patient and enthusiastic approach to working with young children
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine interest in early years education
  • Experience in childcare, nursery, or school settings (desirable but not essential)
