Job Description:
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a Male Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in Bridgend. This full-time position offers an immediate start and runs through to September 2025 and beyond, with potential for long-term opportunities. The role will involve providing tailored support to students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in a mainstream secondary setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with ALN (Additional Learning Needs).
• Assist classroom teachers in delivering the curriculum to students with varying abilities.
• Help create an inclusive and positive learning environment.
• Support students’ emotional, social, and academic development.
• Contribute to behaviour management and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
• Monitor student progress and work closely with the teaching staff to assess individual needs.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience working with ALN students in a school setting.
• Ability to engage with and support students with a range of educational needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A caring and patient approach, committed to the well-being of students.
• Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Male Teaching Assistant required to meet specific safeguarding needs. FREE Level 2 Safeguarding Training provided.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience working with students in a secondary school environment.
• Understanding of various learning disabilities and how to support students effectively.
• Ability to build rapport with students and promote positive behaviour.
