Teaching Assistant 

Location: Abergavenny, Wales
Pay: £82.51 – £90 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:00 pm

Are you passionate about supporting young learners and making a positive impact in education? Join our team as a Teaching Assistant at a reputable secondary school in Abergavenny. This exciting role involves working with students aged 11-16 in both one-to-one settings and small groups.

About the Role

Teaching Personnel is collaborating with a well-regarded secondary school in Abergavenny to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant. This is an amazing opportunity to contribute to students’ academic and personal growth while working alongside experienced educators. You will assist in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing lesson materials and supporting the lead teacher.

  • Create a welcoming and positive atmosphere to encourage student engagement.

  • Foster strong, supportive relationships with pupils, helping them feel comfortable.

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development offered by the school.

  • Aid students in understanding daily activities and developing their skills.

Essential Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS clearance, registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain).

  • EWC registration (or willingness to apply).

  • Ability to provide two recent references.

  • Right to work in the UK, ensuring compliance with regulations.

  • Safeguarding Level 2 certification (provided free by Teaching Personnel).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
