Salary: £89.38 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Job Overview
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a progressive and inclusive secondary school in Powys. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on the education of pupils aged 11–16, providing tailored support for students with various learning needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), physical disabilities, complex needs, behavioural challenges, and speech and language difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and senior leadership to foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, addressing individual barriers to learning.
• Adapt and deliver pre-planned lessons according to the unique educational and emotional needs of each pupil.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and self-confidence in students.
• Assist with classroom organisation, including lesson preparation, resource management, and display creation.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students by adhering to the school’s safeguarding, health and safety, and behaviour policies.
Candidate Requirements
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, and while previous experience in an educational or care setting is beneficial, it is not essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
• Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach when supporting children.
• A proactive and flexible attitude, with the ability to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the classroom.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all students.
• A genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
