1:1 Teaching Assistant – ADHD Support | Secondary School in Powys

Location: Powys, South Wales
Pay: £89.38 – £100 per day (DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Contract: Full-Time or Part-Time

We're on the lookout for an inspiring and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a vibrant, intelligent student with behavioural issues in a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Powys. If you’re ready to be a mentor, motivator, and a steady hand, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.


What You'll Be Doing:

Providing dedicated one-to-one support to a student with ADHD – academically, emotionally, and socially

Working closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals to shape personalised learning strategies

Helping the student stay focused and confident throughout the school day

Using creative, calm and consistent behaviour strategies to keep learning on track

Building a genuine connection based on trust, positivity, and mutual respect


Who We're Looking For:

You’ve worked with children or young people before – ideally in a school or SEN setting

You understand the challenges (and strengths!) of neurodiverse learners like those with ADHD or Autism

You have some form of SEN training or Teaching Assistant qualifications – or a strong willingness to learn

You’re cool under pressure, consistent, and always bring a can-do attitude

You’re not just looking for a job – you want a purpose

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
