  • Are you looking to work within the education sector?
  • Are you studying or perhaps looking to apply for your PGCE but are struggling to work around your studies?
  • Are you looking to work around your own schedule?
  • Perhaps you want to gain more confidence in the classroom…

Teaching Personnel are working with their partner secondary schools in South Wales to find classroom support staff to work on a day to day cover basis. Thanks to excellent relationships built with a range of educational institutions in the RCT and Merthyr area, we are looking for teaching assistants who are available to start in October until March as a designated member of 'bubble staff'' to provide support across a wide range of year groups based on where cover demands are. Staff testing, shielding and regular sickness has meant that schools are having to lean on the support of temporary staff more than ever.

We will assign you to work in a school convenient to your location. Although we pride ourselves on finding excellent candidates, it is also your responsibility to make a great positive impact within the school. In the past, teaching assistants have gone on to secure permanent contracts with the schools on a full time or flexi basis.

We will invite you to an interview with us before enrolling you on a trial with the ideal school. Candidates must be great communicators with regards to their availability and ability to travel.

We can provide full career support and development

We offer CPD courses in safeguarding and classroom management just to give you that added confidence in your role.

The Role

  • Flexible, day to day and short term cover
  • Teaching Support staff within a secondary school (11-16)
  • Working with children with learning difficulties and some challenging behaviour
  • Casual work but opportunities for consistent hours and roles

Candidates Must

  • Have some experience working with children or ambitions to work within this sector.
  • Have enhanced child workforce only DBS (we provide full assistance applying for this)
  • Be registered with the EWC (again, we can help with this.)
  • Be available to interview and trial asap
  • Be available to start in October
  • Be located in RCT or Merthyr
  • If you having spent over 6 consecutive months overseas or are currently living abroad then please be willing to obtain Overseas Criminal Clearance before applying.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
