Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Alternative Provision
Location: Blackburn
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier by arrangement)
Contract Type: Full-time, term-time only
Salary: Dependent on experience and qualifications

We are currently seeking a committed and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our Alternative Provision team in Blackburn. This role involves working with students aged 8 to 16 who require additional support outside of mainstream education.

About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant in our Alternative Provision setting, you will play a key role in supporting students who face a variety of challenges, including behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties. You will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to individual students and small groups

  • Assist in delivering lessons and activities that meet pupils’ individual learning needs

  • Support the development of students' social and emotional skills

  • Promote positive behaviour and help manage challenging behaviour effectively

  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies

What We’re Looking For:

  • A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

  • Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs

  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach

  • A passion for helping young people reach their potential

  • Resilience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference
