Job Title: Level 2 Teaching Assistant
Location: Blackburn – Alternative Provision Setting
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:20am – 3:30pm, Friday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
Salary: £13.75p/h
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and dynamic team at an Alternative Provision setting in Blackburn. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to helping students re-engage with education and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being across the school day.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to progress tracking and feedback for student development.

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

  • Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Has experience working with children or young people, ideally in an alternative provision or SEN setting.
  • Remains calm, compassionate, and confident in challenging situations.
  • Works effectively as part of a committed and enthusiastic team.
  • Is reliable, adaptable, and ready to make a real impact.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
