One of our mainstream Secondary schools in the Stockport area are currently looking for a science teacher for the beginning of the new academic year, September 2023. They would be looking for someone who has recently completed there PGCE and a specialist in Physics. Experience of both Chemistry and Biology would also be desirable, yet not essential.

This is an Ofsted good RC high school, with roughly over 700+ students on roll, this would be a great opportunity for any newly qualified Science teachers, whether recently coming towards the end of a contract or completing the long term supply post. This school would also be accepting someone who has completed a teacher’s direct programme.

The successful applicant will be teaching Physics up to KS4 whilst following the new AQA syllabus. Therefore, prior experience of developing the schemes of work or own resources would be highly desirable. The school emphasises the importance of equipping the students with experiences, values and behaviours which will enable them to take place to become active, successful and confident.

School is located in the heart of Stockport, so would be a perfect fit from those of the surrounding areas. It is also very accessible from the Metrolink with public transport stops located very close to the school. Alongside the M60 and M56 being in the close proximity.

All science teachers available for either full/long time work from the beginning of September are encouraged to apply now. You will need to have QTS, prior experience of teaching within a UK school and school based references with an application for a fully enhanced DBS certificate to apply for the vacancy.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
