Learning Support Assistant

Job description

A Special Education Needs school in Portsmouth are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in their school with Primary aged pupils who have complex learning difficulties, to include Autism.

The successful candidate:

- You will need to have previous experience working with Special Needs individuals

- Be flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of the staff and pupils

- Be able to use your initiative and work independently

- Demonstrate the ability to engage with pupils at all levels

The school are looking for the candidate to come in and hit the ground running, and get stuck in from the get-go. The ability to build good relationships with both staff and pupils is a must. A working day will be from 08:30 - 15:30. Those who are interested will be welcome to spend a trial day at the school, upon undergoing a vetting process. All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
