Or maybe you are a recent graduate seeking positions in special needs schools in Uxbridge.

We are working closely with a special needs school based in Uxbridge who are looking to appoint 2 learning support assistants to start full-time in a KS3 class in September 2020. The role will be for two terms minimally to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups with catch-up, therapy and integrating back into learning.

The school based in Uxbridge, Hillingdon provides for secondary aged children with complex needs including autism, sensory impairments and profound medical conditions. Newly appointed learning support assistants will join a friendly and experienced team alongside up to 3 support assistants in class. You will support children also with overall care such as personal care (toileting), therapies, feeding and medication.  

Confidence supporting special needs, challenging behaviours and learning is vital as children will need support in class with lessons and managing behaviours.

If you have experience in the following send your CV today:

  • As a Learning Support Assistant or in special needs educational settings
  • 1:1 with special educational needs particularly complex needs, autism and challenging behaviours 
  • Supporting secondary aged pupils with learning and overall development 
  • Using PECS, TEACCH, Makaton
  • Personal care, Moving and Handling and/or Hoisting  
  • Supporting speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and/or occupational therapy
  • With de-escalation training such as Team Teach, Studio 3 or Positive Behaviour Support

All applicants interested in this position in UXBRIDGE must be willing to interview prior to September and provide relevant documentation/references to work in schools with vulnerable children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
