Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a dynamic and supportive secondary school in Northampton. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SENCO team to support students with a range of additional needs, including those with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans), learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. You will provide both in-class support and targeted interventions, helping to create an inclusive and nurturing environment where every student can succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Assisting the classroom teacher in delivering differentiated learning activities.
- Promoting positive behaviour and social development.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, feeding back to the SEN team and teachers.
- Helping to create an engaging and supportive classroom environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting the needs of all learners.
- Have experience working with young people in an educational, care, or support setting (desirable but not essential).
- Hold relevant qualifications (such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) or be willing to undertake training.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
