Teaching Personnel are working with a special school situated in Bradford and which is within easy reach of Leeds, Skipton and surrounding areas, located minutes from a local train station. The school is continuing to develop its use of mobile and new technologies to support and enhance learning for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
The school are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant on a long term basis. There is also an opportunity, for the right candidate, of a permanent post within school. This role will commence when pupils return to school – to be confirmed.
The ideal applicant will:
- Have previous experience within a specialist education setting
- Have the passion to promote pupil independence and participation within school and the wider community
- Have a sound understanding of meeting the holistic needs of SEN Learners
- Possess training in Team Teach, Autism Awareness, PECs and/or Intensive Interaction
- Be able to confidently observe and report on pupil’s performance when required
- Be flexible and able to adapt to individual pupil needs
Due to the specific nature of pupil needs, you will be required to provide personal care for individual pupils, including toileting and feeding.
