About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant at one of our South Wales Secondary Schools, you will be responsible for supporting school children aged 11-19. This temporary position requires a nurturing individual with strong relationship building skills, empathy, and teamwork abilities. The role involves supporting pupils with additional learning needs, hence patience, a kind nature, and passion for education are essential qualities for this position.
Job Duties:
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
- Building positive relationships with students
- Assisting in behaviour management
- Collaborating with teachers and staff
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
Education:
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification preferred
Experience:
Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is advantageous
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong relationship building skills
- Ability to manage student behaviour effectively
- Empathy and understanding towards pupils' needs
- Teamwork and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional certifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) support
Working Conditions:
This role involves working with school children aged 11-19 on a temporary basis, with the expectation of full-time hours. The role may require flexibility in working hours and duties as per the school's needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
