A further education college in the south of Manchester is looking for a Learning Facilitator to join their Inclusion department from Easter onwards (potentially start post February half term). The successfully appointed Learning Facilitator would ideally start with the college on Monday 19th April or perhaps from 22nd February as students will have returned by this point. The college are looking for a Learning Facilitator who is experienced in supporting students as a Teaching Assistant, Learner Mentor or perhaps providing tuition previously. Any experience of supporting students with a variety of special educational needs, is highly desirable for this role.
The college require a Learning Facilitator that is confident in working with students of all ages but as this is a college environment, there will be a focus on supporting students aged 16 – 18. There will be the chance to support these students working with them in smaller groups within the classroom and also on a 1 to 1 basis outside of the usual class constraints as required. There are opportunities to support with academic subjects with students taking A-levels as well as vocational subjects with students undertaking BTEC courses such as Mechanics and Transport and Tourism. Any previous experience in a similar setting is highly desirable or relevant transferable skills and experience.
Important highlights of this Learning Facilitator role:
- Earn up to GBP1400 per month dependent upon experience, prior skillset and hours required
- Opportunity to assist within the classroom, working under the direction of the lecturer
- A chance to work across all subject and with a variety of students, including those with SEN, gifted and talented and those that require additional support with certain subject areas
- Support students aged 16 – 18 years old
- Opportunity for part time and full time hours with timetables being set between 9 – 3:30pm
The successful candidate will ideally have relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant in the past or something similar where there are transferable skills. This could be working with students that require behavioural assistance or providing intervention as all experience will be beneficial for this role. The college are looking for an individual who is looking for a Learning Facilitator/TA role and is keen on pursuing a career in the education sector.
The college is situated in the south Manchester area, which is very easily accessible from the surrounding areas of Didsbury, Withington, Stockport, Burnage, Cheadle, Bramhall and Reddish Vale. This college would also suit someone who is located in the Wythenshawe or Altrincham/Sale area given the regular transport between these areas. The college is easily accessible for those Learning Facilitators that drive, given that the M60 ring road services this school closely.
