KS2 Teaching Assistant required in BLACKPOOL - ASAP Start

The Headteacher of a reputable Primary School in Blackpool is looking to secure a strong Teaching Assistant to work collaboratively with the SENCO and KS2 Class teacher to support a child who is transitioning back into a mainstream setting. This is a full time role working 30 hours per week 8:30-15:30 with 1 hour unpaid lunch.

This is an inner-city Primary School serving a mixed catchment area. The school has a diverse catchment area and pupils arrive in school from a mix of social backgrounds. This role is working 1:1 therefore, experience working within a Primary School is essential. Experience working alongside children displaying challenging behaviours is also essential for this particular role and a nurturing but firm approach.

The school is a warm and welcoming environment to work in and the staff who have previously worked on a long term basis in school through Teaching Personnel have commented on how well supported they felt by the SLT.

You will work collectively with the Key Stage 2 Class Teacher, differentiating work to suit the needs of the child you will be supporting. In addition, the school are always open to new ideas therefore if you have previous experience of implementing effective strategies to maximise attainment with 'hard to reach' pupils - the SENCO would be happy for you to share these ideas to develop best practice.

The Head teacher is keen to meet applying candidates alongside the SENCO in school; you will be expected to command a good level of English and Maths and be able to show how you have raised standards previously in primary settings. As the role is to begin as soon as possible - please do not delay in contacting the office today on 01772 842154.

In terms of personality, the school are always keen to meet people to get a feel for how they would fit in with the team. With the school being very community and family orientated, the Head teacher is happy to accept personality ahead of experience!
