KS1 Class Teacher role, Blackburn
Teaching Personnel are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Key Stage 1 teacher to begin work at a partnership primary school in Blackburn from January 2020. The position is to teach the Year 1 class on a full-time basis and is planned to continue until July with the potential of going onto a school contract in the new academic year.
The school are looking for a teacher with a creative ability to plan purposeful learning opportunities that make learning exciting and enjoyable. The successful candidate will be confident in delivering the Letters and Sounds phonics programme and will have a proven track record of achieving high levels of progress, particularly in preparation for the Year 1 phonics screening check. Furthermore, the successful candidate will have a positive attitude to working within a team, whether that be alongside the experienced teaching assistant within the class or with other class teachers across school. They will also demonstrate effective time-management and organisation skills.
The primary school is located in Blackburn and has been recently graded 'good' by Ofsted. The school aims to promote ambition, aspiration and children’s holistic development, as they recognise each and every child as an individual with their own unique interests, qualities and strengths. The school recognises quality extra-curricular opportunities as high importance; accordingly the successful candidate will be required to organise and deliver a weekly after-school club.
Job Specification:
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Child workforce DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a DBS
- Experience of teaching within Key Stage 1 within the last 6 months
- Right to work in the UK
