Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Openshaw, which is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from October 2026.

The Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will deliver targeted interventions, provide high-quality classroom support, and help create an inclusive learning environment where pupils feel valued, confident, and motivated to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support across a range of year groups and curriculum areas.
• Deliver interventions to individuals and small groups to support pupil progress and attainment.
• Assist teachers with planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging learning activities.
• Support the assessment, monitoring, and reporting of pupil progress.
• Provide tailored support for pupils with additional educational, social, and emotional needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Build strong professional relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and support whole-school initiatives where required.

About You

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

• HLTA status or substantial experience supporting teaching and learning within a primary school setting.
• A genuine passion for education and helping children reach their full potential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently and use initiative when required.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to supporting pupils and staff.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
• A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
