KS1 and KS2 teachers - South East London

Date posted : 24/06/19
£130 - £180 per annum

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

We are excited to recruit for a new class teacher for a popular two-form entry primary school right on the edge of Burgess Park in Walworth. The school is a successful primary which has a real drive to create an inclusive and caring community with approachable staff. The school works hard to engage with the wider community and recognises the importance of encompassing the richness of diversity and culture into the school. The school provides an exciting curriculum and numerous extra-curricular activities including football, dance and tennis.

The school has seen great success from co-planning across a variety of subjects including mathematics recently. They have found this to increase consistency in teaching and standards as well as working towards reducing teacher workload. The senior leadership has a good focus on training and the teachers are appreciative of the current training provisions which allow for personal development and sharing of good practice. Teachers are set development targets that are closely linked to their training so they are well situated to make rapid progress.

You will be well supported in the role by the senior leadership team as well as a team of well trained support staff. Each class has two teaching assistants and the relationships across the school between pupils and adults are warm and caring. The happy environment with close community relationships leaves pupils with positive attitudes to learning and the desire to do well.

If this sounds like the right environment for you to take the next steps in your teaching career, the school are hoping to interview as soon as possible. The school is looking for a teacher that will ideally take on a class role in Year 1, 3 or 5. Shortlisting criteria include:

  • UK QTS
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in either KS1 or KS2
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the UK Curriculum
  • A commitment to inclusion and diversity
  • A good attitude to teamwork
