Intervention Tutor - Rochdale

Are you looking for flexible tuition work around the Rochdale area?

Teaching Personnel, the market leader of education recruitment, are working closely with one of partner schools in Rochdale who currently require an intervention tutor to support a small group of identified students. This exciting role is due to start immediately and is initially until the end of the academic year, with a strong possibility of continuing into September.

  • Flexible working schedule to suit your needs
  • Earn between £10 and £25 per hour dependent on qualifications and experience
  • Applications welcomed from recent graduates (especially English & Maths graduates)
  • Opportunity to access our CPD academy whilst working as a tutor

Our partner school is a large 'Outstanding' academy located in the Milnrow area of Rochdale. They moved to a new build in 2011, which has provided their pupils and the local community with state of the art facilities in all subject areas which will enable us to further develop the academic, cultural and sporting interests of our pupils in an attractive modern environment. The school is easily reachable by public transport and is situated close to the M62 motorway.

"We believe that every individual child at our school should be challenged and supported to make outstanding progress academically and develop into an independent, considerate and confident young adult, capable of successfully entering further education, employment or training. We have the highest expectations for all of our pupils. Their success is our success." Headteacher.

As an intervention tutor at our partner school you will be supporting a number of students that have been identified by either heads of departments, or heads of year. These students may be falling behind in their studies, have been identified at being at key borderlines or need some extra support in the stretch and challenge of exceeding their targets. Whilst working as a tutor for Teaching Personnel, you can expect flexibility in both times and places of tutoring, dependent on the needs of the students and schools. You can expect consistent and regular work throughout the academic year, and tutoring usually takes place either in a public library or in the school itself.

As a tutor for Teaching Personnel, you will be assigned to an individual student or a small group of students and will be expected to help raise attainment as well as encouraging academic success. You will also be expected to plan and deliver engaging and motivating intervention sessions, whilst monitoring and tracking the progress of the student and relaying the information back to a designated member of staff at the school.

If you would like to apply for this post as an Intervention Tutor please apply via the link below or send an updated CV to Chris Beckenham at Manchester North Secondary directly, alternatively call on the number provided for further information.
