Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Reception (Phonics Focus)

Radcliffe (M26)

Full-time | 8:30am–3:30pm

Start Date: September

Contract: Full Academic Year

Teaching Personnel are proud to be working in partnership with a warm and welcoming primary school in the M26 area, who are seeking a skilled Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their Reception team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact on children at the very beginning of their learning journey, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality phonics support through the Read Write Inc programme.

About the School

This friendly and supportive school places a strong emphasis on early language development and reading. Staff work collaboratively to provide engaging phonics teaching alongside targeted interventions, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.

The Role

As a key member of the EYFS team, you will:

-          Support the delivery of phonics sessions, ensuring consistency and with the programme

-          Lead small group and one-to-one interventions to support early readers

-          Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and close learning gaps

-          Engage with children during Continuous Provision, with a focus on communication and language development

-          Assist with assessment, tracking, and recording phonics progress

-          Help create a calm, nurturing, and structured learning environment

We are looking for someone who has:

-          A Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or Teaching Assistance

-          Proven experience working within EYFS, particularly in Reception

-          Strong practical knowledge of the Read Write Inc phonics scheme

-          Confidence in leading groups independently and tailoring support to individual needs

-          A proactive, reliable, and adaptable approach

-          Excellent communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for early literacy

-          A current DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
