Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Location: Leyland

Salary: From £14.25 per hour

Contract Type: Full-time

Start Date: September 2026

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Leyland. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated individual who is passionate about education and keen to make a positive impact on pupils’ learning and development.

You will work closely with teachers to support the delivery of engaging lessons, provide targeted interventions, and contribute to a positive learning environment for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

-          Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and learning activities

-          Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and raise attainment

-          Assist in planning and preparing classroom resources

-          Provide support for pupils with additional needs, including SEN

-          Help monitor and record pupil progress

-          Promote positive behaviour in line with the school’s policies

-          Contribute to creating an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

-          Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

-          Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

-          Previous experience working in a school setting

-          A good understanding of the curriculum

-          Strong communication and teamwork skills

-          The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

-          A proactive, flexible, and patient approach

-          A commitment to safeguarding and supporting student wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
