Humanities Teacher
Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate Humanities Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Lancaster from January 2026. The school is proud of its inclusive ethos, strong academic standards and commitment to developing curious, confident and compassionate learners.
The successful candidate will teach across KS3 and KS4 within a supportive Humanities department that values collaboration, creativity and continuous improvement. Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Humanities curriculum.
- Inspire pupils through creative teaching and effective classroom management.
- Use assessment to monitor progress and provide meaningful feedback.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, enrichment and cross-departmental initiatives.
- Promote the school’s values of respect, inclusion and high aspiration.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and degree in a Humanities subject.
- Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum.
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A positive, reflective and committed approach to teaching.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
