Teacher of Music (KS3 & KS4)

Blackburn, Lancashire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Temporary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic Teacher of Music to join a vibrant mainstream secondary school in Blackburn, Lancashire from September 2026.

The Role

You will deliver engaging and creative Music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, encouraging students to develop their musical skills, creativity, and appreciation of the subject. This is a full-time, temporary position, ideal for both experienced teachers and ECTs looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Music lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach KS3 and KS4 students of varying abilities
  • Support students in both practical and theoretical aspects of Music
  • Prepare pupils for GCSE Music where applicable
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities such as performances, clubs, or productions
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Specialism in Music
  • Experience teaching in a UK secondary school setting (KS3/KS4 desirable)
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Passionate about Music and supporting student development
  • Gain valuable experience in a rewarding educational environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
