Teacher of French (KS3 & KS4)

Darwen, Lancashire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Fixed-term (September 2026 – April 2027)

Are you a passionate and engaging French teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a dynamic Teacher of French to join a welcoming and supportive mainstream secondary school in Darwen, Lancashire from September 2026.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality French lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, inspiring students of all abilities to develop their confidence and proficiency in languages. This is a fixed-term position covering the academic period from September 2026 to April 2027.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging French lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach KS3 and KS4 students of mixed abilities
  • Prepare pupils for GCSE examinations
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialism in French
  • Experience teaching in a UK secondary school setting (KS3/KS4)
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A passion for languages and the ability to motivate learners
