September to July 2019 - Full time role

HLTA in the Year 5/6 class

Support and teaching in the split class

A small school outside the centre of Accrington, have approached Teaching Personnel to recruit a full time (30 hours) Higher Level Teaching Assistant HLTA to support in the Year 5/6 class. The role will be to start in September 2018 and continue until the end of the academic year, with the view to continuing on a temp to perm basis. The school are keen to see HLTAs and possible NQTs/RQTs to trial out. There is an expectation that the role will involve delivering at least 4 lessons per week, and the rest will be spent supporting small groups. The behaviour in class can be challenging due to the catchment area of the school. The school are keen to implement a consistent behaviour policy in order to keep all the children safe and stimulated in their learning environment.

The school is currently graded GOOD by Ofsted and standards are high, particularly in core subjects and in behaviour. The Head teacher is inspirational and is keen to appoint a strong and committed practitioner who can come into school and hit the ground running without much support. The Deputy in school is the Year 5/6 class teacher and is keen to be part of the recruitment process as well.
