Teaching Personnel are working closely with a fantastic, well-rounded SEND Primary School in the Haywards Heath area who are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Child Buddy to join their team.

This role is all about building strong rapport with primary-aged boys, becoming a trusted and positive presence throughout their school day and helping them get the most out of their education.

 What Does a Child Buddy Do?

As a Child Buddy, you won't just be sitting in the classroom! You'll work alongside pupils throughout different parts of their day, providing consistency, encouragement and support.

You'll be expected to:

•  Build strong, positive relationships with primary-aged boys

•  Support pupils with their learning and engagement inside the classroom

•  Provide support on both a 1:1 and small-group basis

•  Become a positive and consistent role model

•  Use your SEND knowledge to understand and respond to individual needs

•  Engage with pupils between lessons and during break times

•  Support and participate in school trips, outings and activities

•  Encourage pupils to develop their communication, confidence and social skills

•  Provide reassurance and consistency throughout the school day

•  Work closely with teachers and other SEND professionals to create a positive learning environment

Availability: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Setting: SEND Primary School
Age Group: Primary-aged pupils
Experience: SEND experience desirable
DBS: Child-Only Enhanced DBS required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
