Child Support Leader – SEND Primary School | Haywards Heath

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist SEND Primary School in the Haywards Heath area who are seeking energetic, sporty and enthusiastic individuals to join their team as a Child Support Leader.

The school supports primary-aged pupils with Autism and additional needs and is particularly looking for individuals who can use their passion for sport and physical activity to build positive relationships with the boys at the school.

Whether your background is in football, coaching, fitness, PE, youth work or another sport, your ability to engage, motivate and become a positive role model for young people could make you a fantastic fit for this position.

 What Will You Be Doing?

As a Child Support Leader, you will work closely with pupils throughout the school day, supporting them both academically and socially.

Your responsibilities will include:

•  Supporting pupils on both a 1:1 and small-group basis

•  Working closely with primary-aged pupils with Autism

•  Building strong, trusting relationships and becoming a positive role model

•  Supporting pupils with their learning and classroom engagement

•  Getting involved during break and lunch times – including playing football with pupils on the school's 4G pitch!

•  Using sport and physical activity as a way to engage and motivate pupils

•  Supporting pupils with their communication, confidence and social development

•  Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils regulate their emotions

•  Working alongside teachers and SEND professionals to provide consistent support

 Role Details

Location: Haywards Heath
Pay: £92.63 per day
Contract: Temp to Perm
Availability: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Experience: Autism experience desirable
Interests/Hobbies: Sports & physical activity
DBS: Child-Only Enhanced DBS required

 Who Are We Looking For?

You don't necessarily need to come from a traditional classroom background. We're interested in hearing from sports coaches, football coaches, PE graduates, youth workers, teaching assistants, support workers and individuals with a genuine passion for working with young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
