Contract length: full-time, temp-perm opportunity
We are on the search for a highly motivated, committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join an Ofsted rated “good” secondary school in Lancaster, Lancashire. It is not just teaching staff who help this secondary school create exceptional results – the support staff are vital to ensuring that the pupils achieve their full potential and become confident, resilient and compassionate individuals who can make a positive contribution to society.
You will be working with excellent staff in this exciting and challenging post. You need to have extremely high expectations to ensure children regardless of gender, ethnicity and religion achieve to the best of their ability. An interest in working with students with a wide range of special educational needs including emotional, social and mental health needs is essential, together with an interest in supporting second language learners. A caring, flexible and common sense approach is important.
Roles and responsibilities:
ü To teach small groups of up to 6 students
ü To develop an understanding of the educational needs of the students involved
ü To assist students to learn as effectively as possible in class, group and individual situations
ü To establish a supportive relationship with the students concerned
ü To encourage the integration of the students into the class
Teaching Personnel offer the opportunity to undertake CPD, including supporting teaching assistants in pursuing teaching careers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
