History Teacher

Teaching Personnel are working on behalf of a heavily oversubscribed school in the cathedral city of Chichester. The School are looking to recruit a suitably qualified teacher of History to join their successful and established Department, and support the delivery of Key Stage 3 and 4 History.

The school is rated by Ofsted as an "Outstanding" provider, and holds Christian values at the core of everything it does. The School is a non-selective 11-18 Church of England School, with a long established reputation for excellence. The School thrives under strong, clear leadership; and has held its Ofsted 'Outstanding' status since 2009.

The History Department itself is made up of five Specialists, who teach a variety of topics across the key stages. At KS4 the Department deliver Modern History on the AQA syllabus. The Department is creative, vibrant and forward-thinking one whose aim is to make History learning engaging and relevant. History remains one of the most popular Humanities options at GCSE and many Students continue it at A Level within the Schools Sixth Form.

The ideal Candidate will be;

• A highly skilled practitioner, who can be flexible to meet the needs of all students
• Passionate and enthused in their Subject
• Able or interested in teaching History at KS5, must have experience delivering the subject at KS3 & 4
• Qualified with a relevant teaching qualification, or equivalent overseas training
• Highly moral with Christian or similar values, aligning with the ethos of the School
• Either a newly qualified teacher, or a more experienced colleague, as the appointment will be made on merit

This is a full time role starting from September, but part time appointments will be considered.
