Higher Level Teaching Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a confident and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and well-resourced Post-16 campus in Poole.

The school is recognised for its positive, supportive atmosphere and its strong commitment to helping students develop independence, life skills and confidence.

This is a full time position with an immediate start, working with students aged 16 to 18. Hours are 8.30am to 5pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead small group learning and support whole-class teaching

• Deliver planned activities that focus on academic and personal development

• Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and independence

• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to track progress

• Contribute to a calm, safe and structured learning environment

Requirements

We welcome applicants who are:

• Experienced – minimum of 6 months childcare experience, ideally supporting children or young people with additional learning needs

• Confident communicating with young adults and promoting independence

• Flexible, patient, and able to work in a team-focused environment

• Passionate about helping students reach their full potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
