SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time | Poole | Immediate Start

An exciting opportunity has become available for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive specialist college in Poole.

This rewarding role offers the chance to support young people aged 14 to 18 with severe and complex Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to develop essential life skills, confidence, and independence within a caring and structured environment.

 

About the Role
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 4pm, with an immediate start. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists to provide tailored academic and personal support to students with a wide range of needs.

You will assist with classroom activities, communication development, and sensory-based learning, while helping each learner to engage positively in their education and reach their potential.

Requirements
We are looking for a caring, patient, and reliable individual who is committed to supporting young people with additional needs. To be successful in this role, you must have:
• A minimum of 6 months’ childcare experience, ideally supporting children or young adults with SEN
• A full driving licence and access to your own transport due to the school’s location
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A calm, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting diverse learning needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
