Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Immediate Start (Full Time)
Location: Bournemouth | Ages 3–18 | Primary & Secondary

About the Role

We are actively seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and well-resourced SEN school campus in Bournemouth.

This school offers an inspiring learning environment where students are encouraged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

This is a full time, immediate start position supporting pupils across both primary and secondary age ranges. The working hours are 8.45am to 3.30pm, although on some weekdays finish times may vary depending on school needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned lessons and small group interventions under teacher direction

  • Support children with additional learning needs to engage positively

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other support staff

  • Promote independence, emotional regulation and confidence in the classroom

  • Ensure a safe, structured and nurturing environment for all students


Requirements

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced – minimum of 6 months childcare experience, specifically supporting children with additional learning needs

  • Confident working across a wide age range (3 to 18 years)

  • Able to drive, due to the school’s location and limited public transport links

  • Reliable, patient and adaptable, with excellent communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
