Graduate Teaching Assistant
Manchester

Teaching Personnel are looking for Graduate Teaching Assistants to join our Future Teachers Programme in the new academic year.

The Future Teachers Programme is a scheme across England & Wales designed to help address the current shortages of teachers, by supporting graduates who are considering a career in teaching, but wish to gain paid school based experience. Our partner schools are located across Greater Manchester with training schools located in South, North and West Manchester.

To apply for the Future Teachers Programme, applicants will need to be educated to degree level and must hold a degree in one of the following subject areas: Maths, Science, English, Humanities or Languages.

The programme will involve working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for one academic year in a local partner secondary school. The roles will start from September onwards and will run throughout the remainder of the academic year until July 2020. Graduates will be given the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of roles, giving you a real insight into the role of a teacher. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Assist in the planning and preparation of lessons and lesson resources
  • Deliver small group interventions in your subject area to raise pupil attainment
  • Cover lessons in the short term absence of teachers

Graduates will receive ongoing support from Teachers, Senior Leaders and Teaching Personnel throughout the programme. The Future Teachers Programme will provide all graduates with the experience necessary to progress on to formal Teacher Training. Best of all, all graduates will earn between ÂŁ1100 - ÂŁ1200 per month whilst enhancing your confidence, subject knowledge and teaching ability prior to beginning your training.

For immediate consideration to The Future Teachers Programme, please upload a copy of CV via the link below. For further information, please contact the Manchester Secondary branch.
