Teacher of Science – Experienced Specialist (Full Time)

Location: Basingstoke | Contract: Permanent | Phase: Secondary (KS3–KS4) | Start: ASAP

Teaching Personnel are partnering with a values‑driven secondary school in Basingstoke to appoint a full‑time Teacher of Science (Specialist). This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Science teacher with excellent behaviour management to join a collaborative department and deliver high‑impact learning across KS3–KS4. A specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics is welcomed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, knowledge‑rich Science lessons across KS3–KS4, leveraging your specialism.
  • Plan adaptive, inclusive sequences that stretch and support all learners.
  • Track progress effectively, implement targeted interventions and raise attainment.
  • Establish calm, purposeful classrooms with consistent behaviour routines.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, assessment and enrichment (STEM clubs, trips, competitions).
  • Champion the school’s values and contribute to wider initiatives and pastoral support.

About You (Essential)

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology / Chemistry / Physics and broad KS3–KS4 Science.
  • Excellent behaviour management and a calm, consistent presence.
  • Proven ability to drive progress across mixed‑ability groups.
  • Committed to safeguarding, inclusion and professional development.
  • A reflective, collaborative practitioner with high expectations for every learner.
