Teacher of English – Experienced Specialist (Full Time)

Teaching Personnel are working with a thriving secondary school in Basingstoke to appoint a passionate, skilled, and experienced Teacher of English Specialist for a full‑time, permanent position starting ASAP.
This is an exciting opportunity for an English teacher with excellent behaviour management, a strong commitment to student progress, and the ability to deliver consistently high‑quality lessons across KS3–KS4.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Plan and adapt curriculum content to meet the needs of mixed‑ability classes
- Be accountable for student progress, monitoring and assessing outcomes
- Maintain high behaviour expectations and create a purposeful learning environment
- Contribute to departmental planning, resources, and literacy development
- Support the wider school ethos through pastoral and enrichment opportunities
The Ideal Candidate
You will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Have strong subject knowledge of English Literature and Language
- Demonstrate excellent behaviour management with a calm, consistent approach
- Deliver creative, inspiring and knowledge‑rich lessons
- Show evidence of raising attainment across diverse cohorts
- Be committed to continuous professional development
- Champion inclusion, equality and high expectations for every learner
