Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a highly regarded secondary school in Basingstoke to recruit an experienced Teacher of English for a full-time maternity cover position starting 13th April 2026.

The successful candidate will be a confident classroom practitioner with a passion for English and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
The Role
As a Teacher of English, you will:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring strong progress for all learners
- Inspire a love of literature, language, reading and writing, supporting students to achieve excellent outcomes
- Maintain a calm, purposeful and respectful classroom environment through excellent behaviour management
- Use assessment effectively to track progress and provide clear, meaningful feedback
- Work collaboratively within a dedicated English team, sharing resources and best practice
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the school and uphold high expectations for behaviour, attendance and achievement
