Graduate Teaching Assistant, September
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Calling all Bath Spa and University of Bath graduates! (or any graduates in the Bath area in September).
Teaching Personnel is looking for multiple graduates who are looking for their first step into education in September as a school we are in partnership with is expanding and need more support staff!
MUST HAVES
- A graduate degree
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- a genuine interest in education and working with children
A very established CofE secondary school with an OFSTED rating of GOOD is needing at least 5 or more teaching assistants to support students on a 1:1 basis who express challenging behaviour. Whether this is because of a neurological condition or for social reasons. Most roles are full-time, which is Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 3:30, however, part-time and temporary jobs are available also.
Behaviours that are essential for this Graduate Teaching Assistant Role
- Commitment - You will be working with vulnerable students so consistency is essential
- Confidence - You need to get stuck in and be proactive. You will be supported but there will be no hand holding
- Resilience and patience - You will find this role challenging! You can't give up as this will take time.
The reason for the need for so many staff is simple - This school is very popular and with two local schools closing down, the intake in Year 7 is expected to be particular high.
Teaching Personnel has been working closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) for a number of years. We have placed multiple TAs in the school and our candidates can't speak highly enough of her. You will be supported and guided throughout. We also provide training for conditions such as Autism and TEAM TEACH, which is de-escalation training for SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). However, you will be learning on the job and it is important you get stuck in and be proactive.
The benefits of working through Teaching Personnel for the Graduate Teaching Assistant Role
- An opportunity to secure a contract through the school
- Competitive weekly PAYE pay with no timesheets or umbrella company fees
- No formal interviews or application forms
- An opportunity to meet the team and students before you commit
If you are interested, please contact me immediately. Even though it's for September, the school wants this secured as early as possible so they can plan better. Just call or email me your CV and quote "Graduate Teaching Assistant". I look forward to hearing from you.
