Location: Huyton, Liverpool
Start Date: October 2026
Contract: Temporary
Duration: Minimum 1 Term
Hours: Full Time

Pay Rate: £95 - £105 per day (depending on experience)

About the Role

Teaching Personnel are seeking a confident and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in the Huyton area from October 2026. This full-time role will involve supporting a Year 6 class during a key stage in their educational journey, helping pupils prepare for SATs and their transition to secondary school.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA or an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to take on additional responsibility within a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and provide class cover when required.
  • Lead small group interventions and targeted support in English and Maths.
  • Support Year 6 pupils in preparation for SATs assessments.
  • Assist with classroom management and promote positive behaviour.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to support pupils' academic progress and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to an inclusive and engaging learning environment for all pupils.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a HLTA qualification or has substantial experience working at HLTA level in a primary school.
  • Has a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum, particularly Year 6.
  • Is confident leading whole-class learning and intervention groups.
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Has a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
