Graduate teaching assistant

Are you a graduate that is looking to start there PGCE in the future? Would you like to gain further classroom based experience within a secondary school prior to embarking on a teacher training course?

If so, Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a number of graduates to work within our client schools as a graduate teaching assistant.

This would be the perfect preparation working in a number of excellent schools where you will have the opportunity to learn and develop the fundamental skills required to be successful during teacher training.

Summary of position

• Graduate Teaching Assistant - Full and Part time positions available
• Opportunities to work within a variety of schools located in the Bolton region
• You can expect to earn anything from £1000-1200 per month
• Supporting the learning of pupils across a number of subject areas including Maths, English, Science, Physical Education, Humanities and Modern Foreign Languages

***Applicants are required to be educated to degree level (Essential) and have experience supporting the learning of secondary aged pupils previously (Desirable).***

What does a graduate teaching assistant role involve?

• You will be responsible for supporting teaching staff in the delivery of lessons
• Working alongside individual students, promoting good behaviour in class and helping to limit disruption in lessons
• You will have the opportunity to run small intervention and tuition sessions with students who require additional support to reach their full potential
• Opportunity to experience covering full lessons with support and guidance from teaching staff

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain the essential work experience, whilst getting paid on the job. Our client schools have full and part time positions available, with a number of our clients incorporating the use of subject specific graduate teaching assistants. You will have the opportunity to utilise your knowledge within your subject to impact the learning of pupils ahead of their examinations.

The ideal candidate will be local to the Bolton area or will be able to access schools in and around Bolton easily whether that is by car or public transport. Applicants will be pursuing a career in secondary education and have a strong desire to become a teacher in the future.
