The schools have excellent leadership and they have ensured that the school has a broad and balanced curriculum. As a result, attainment is rising for all pupils, including for disadvantaged pupils. Behaviour around the school is calm and orderly and relationships between pupils and staff are positive. Pupils are smart and come to school ready to learn.

If you are a confident graduate looking to work as a teaching assistant, this opportunity offers paid experience and would be a great option for you!

The successful candidate must:

  • Have previous experience working with children aged (11-16)
  • Be able to travel to and from the school in Bury
  • Be committed to working as part of a team, full time from 8:30am – 3:30pm
  • Be a supportive and caring assistant
  • Be outgoing and confident with a strong ability to form positive relationships with pupils
  • Manage challenging behaviour

This role as a graduate teaching assistant is full time (Monday – Friday) from 8:30am to 3:30pm each day. Initially on a temporary contract with the chance of a permanent role for the right candidate.

Hourly rate of pay is £10.77-12 per hour.

Day to day duties include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1-2-1 basis
  • Guiding pupils through work set by the main class teacher
  • Manage behaviour and encourage learning
  • Reporting back to class teacher and head of department
  • Improving students’ confidence and self-esteem

To be considered, please submit your CV and a consultant from Teaching Personnel will be in touch.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’.
