Graduate Teacher Program

Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with Schools and University's across the country on a program called Graduate Teachers. The Graduate Teachers Program is designed to give graduates the opportunity to gain invaluable experience working around York in both Primary and Secondary schools.

The Graduate Teachers Program provides each individual graduate with the chance to learn about key elements of teaching life and what it entails. You will observe and assist in lesson planning and delivery, 1:1 pupil intervention, develop student learning plans, exam preparation and tutoring! These are just a few examples of the tasks you will carry out on a daily basis while also being supported by a mentor and consultant who will work with you through the year. We provide the placements in Primary, Secondary and Special Education schools, the opportunity to work in one, two or all three is entirely up to you!

The Program itself presents great career progression and the opportunity to complete a year within the education sector before applying for a PGCE or gaining a place on a Teacher Training Program. Graduate Teacher Entry Requirements:

• Graduated by July 2019
• Can start as soon as possible
• Live around the York area or able to commute
• Must be available Monday to Friday 08:30 till 15:30
• Experience with subjects including Science, English, History, Maths, Geography or Psychology
