Graduate Teaching Assistant - Future Teachers Programme

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting graduates in the Weymouth area who are considering a career in primary or secondary teaching in the future.

Our future teachers programme allows you not only to secure employment as a Cover Supervisor following the completion of your degree, but it is a clear and concise pathway onto a school based initial teacher training programme. This programme allows you to gain the necessary experience required to be confident and successful when you begin your teacher training.

This programme involves working as a Cover Supervisor on a 12 month basis within one of our client schools. Once you complete the first year with the school you will then go on to complete your training year with the same school! After the two years you will come out with a PGCE and QTS!

The best part is, during the 2 years, you will be getting PAID!

• Full time Graduate teaching assistant role for 12 months - Followed by introduction to a salaried teacher training programme at a local training school
• Opportunities for all graduates pursuing a career in primary and secondary education
• Paid up to £1200 a month whilst gaining essential and invaluable experience as a cover supervisor.

You will be working predominantly in your chosen subject specialism. A significant proportion of these tasks and activities will also benefit your subject knowledge as you will focus on raising pupil attainment, supporting special needs pupils, covering classes, assisting with planning, preparing lessons and developing schemes of work.

Responsibilities within the graduate role include providing;

• Cover Supervisor work where you will experience covering lessons and classroom management
• one to one specific tuition/interventions where you will utilise your subject knowledge to raise pupil attainment
• SEN support where you can work alongside pupils with Special Educational Needs
• In-class support in your specialist subject to enhance pupils learning experience
• Assistance with planning and preparation of lessons alongside teachers to up skill you in this area
